Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 to go
With the Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 the portability and ease of sketching with Sketchbook pro made sketching quick demos in class a breeze.
1st Sketchbook pro demo in China
China Wacom studio
It was so cool to teach in a studio that was equipped with the latest technology from both Wacom and Samsung. Each student had a Wacom 22HD and a HP 24'' dual screen set up as well as Samsung galaxy note 10.1 for portability My demo screen was a 60''Sharp led aquos which was perfect for class demos as well student reviews.

More from China
In
my first class teaching here at South East / Monash University in Suzhou in
China I asked the students to teach me about the beautiful sculpture at the
entrance to the University......I learned that it depicts Lao Zi a famous
Chinese philosopher and founder of Taoism. The inscription on the
sculpture says "The highest good is just like the character of water
accessible to all things and does not compete with fame".
So the first exercise was to draw coloured balls to show form and from the sculpture they added Chinese characters. After my demo my very enthusiastic students were very eager to learn and surprised me with a very high standard of work on the first day, all the sketches were done in the new Wacom lab on brand new 22HD Cintiqs with HP 22 second monitors for reference and running Autodesk Sketchbook pro 6 for all our sketching.

Greetings from China
Ian Wong and myself arrived in Suzhou on Monday. We were totally amazed by the size of the Industrial Park here and how much this city has been transformed. As you can see I am standing outside the new building for the joint venture between Monash University and South East University.
It is good to see the new contemporary Chinese architecture and how they have managed not to have forgotten the past.
