Wacom Companion test demo Apple or Samsung e bike

Wacom Australia have kindly given me one of their Cintiq companions for an extended evaluation. As you have seen I regularly use my Samsung PC for sketching while mobile. Well here goes loaded sketchbook pro 6........for my first sketch I have revisited my idea of a Samsung or Apple electric bike concept, these two giants may inspire the way for new consumer lifestyle products, but while evolving the concept I though it needed a new direction so I thought of the old penny farthing which was front wheel drive, so what do you think. I will follow up with more posts on what I think of the companion, so far I'm enjoying the larger canvas and the feel of the pen.

CAVE Autodesk conference

I was honoured to have my work selected to be showcased in the CAVE art collection at the first CAVE conference. The committee said the collection is aiming to highlight beautiful, imaginative creations, so we'll be selecting pieces by artists that are visually interesting, well executed, and fit into the "Explore. Imagination." theme.

Cintiq Companion Demo

The Cintiq Companion combines the immersive, on-screen creative experience of a Cintiq creative pen display with the mobility of a high-performance Windows 8 creative tablet - giving you the power to produce professional results from anywhere. The demo also included staff from CobaltNiche and Design + Industry who were able to ask questions and see the demo live via FaceTime.

Today at Monash Art Design and Architecture - MADA. Vaughan Stott, John Warwicker, Ned Culic, Bernie Walsh and Tony Stolfo demo the Wacom Cintiq Companion All were very impressed.

I took the Cintiq Companion out side for a test run the HD Screen was very clear and had very little reflection, the slightly matt surface of the Cintiq was better to sketch on than my Samsung Smart PC slate.

The 13 inch screen was like drawing on an A3 sketch pad made my 11inch Samsung look tiny

Sunday afternoon sketchbook pro speed sketch

For my Sunday afternoon speed sketch on my Samsung tablet I thought I would revisit the speed planes I played with a couple of years ago. I also downloaded the latest changes to Sketchbook pro and found some handy Improvements, one being the addition of an axis line when you rotate the ellipse. But it also ditched the snapshot feature which was very handy

sketchbook pro on the move

Been working on this on my Samsung smart PC slate while traveling around Switzerland. haven't quite finished most of the areas, used the alien sword from a previous sketch. I have been leaving it a few days and then coming back to it (you then see what can be improved) this is a different technique to speed sketching...What do you think?

Americas cup update

New Zealand began the eighth match in the best-of-17 Cup finals with a lead over Oracle, but in a maneuver during an upward leg skipper Dean Barker briefly lost control when the boat's hydraulically controlled, 135-foot-tall wing sail got stuck. The AC72 catamaran teetered on one hull for several seconds before dropping back in the water.
That gave Oracle a chance to get out in front and it went on to win the race by 52 seconds, just its second victory in the 17-match series in San Francisco Bay.
"We didn't get the hydraulics and if the wing doesn't tack when the boat does, you're in trouble," Barker said. "Fortunately the boat came up and no collision with the other guys."
Due to rising winds, organizers abandoned a second scheduled race, which New Zealand had been winning.
Aggressive tactics and solidly executed maneuvers have helped the Kiwis dominate racing since the final series of races for the 162-year old trophy began last week. Barring a catastrophic misstep by New Zealand, which its near-capsize easily could have become, experts say Oracle has little chance of catching up.
The Kiwis, backed by the New Zealand government, have scored six victories against Oracle and need only three more to win. The next two races are scheduled for Sunday.
